ABOUT THE SAUGUS HOUSING AUTHORITY

The Saugus Housing Authority’s mission is to serve the needs of low-income, very low-income and extremely low-income families in the PHA’s jurisdiction.  In addition the housing authority strives to:

  1. Increase the availability of decent, safe and affordable housing in its communities
  2. Ensure equal opportunity in housing
  3. Promote self-sufficiency and asset development for families and individuals
  4. Improve community quality of life and economic viability
The Saugus Housing Authority administers five different programs for Saugus households in need of subsidized housing.  The five programs consist of the following:

  1. Federal Low Rent Public Housing – Heritage Heights
  2. State Elderly Public Housing
  3. State Family Public Housing
  4. State Chapter 689 Housing
  5. Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program
